Project Le Rêveur
/ Le Rêveur at Flower Market, Hong Kong
Interior design and styling for a cafe & bistro in Hong Kong.
The cafe was founded by a couple who has always been fascinated with France since they were young. Dreaming of opening a Parisian cafe one day, the couple named their first cafe as Le Rêveur, meaning daydreamer in French.
Multiple giant colorful lampshades are the main feature of the cafe. Drawing from an inspiration from the colourful lampshades the client saw in festivals in one of her travels to France, she has sourced a selection in multiple shapes and sizes and in a rainbow of colours. To seamlessly blend the lampshades together, we came up with an European design scheme utilising a neutral colour scheme as a background to complement the bright shades of the lampshades, coupled with french crown moulding, ratten chairs, making the customers feel like they are walking in a Parisian cafe at Champs-Elysees. As the cafe is one block away from the legendary Hong Kong flower market, we decorated the space with different garden motif, creating a secret tranquil and magical garden for flower and coffee lovers.
Featured in TimeOut magazine as one of the best new cafes and coffees shops in Hong Kong - “the Parisian cafe offers a refreshing change from the plethora of minimalistic cafes that’s been popping up around town”- Le Rêveur has gained the attention of many cafe-hopping foodies in town.
